At Leaf & Latch, we believe growth happens both inside and out — in the quiet moments we create for ourselves, and in the world we’re helping to tend beyond our screens.

That belief shapes how we design our products, how we show up for our community, and how we choose to give back.

  • Restoring the World We Live In

Reforestation supports the environment we inherit — restoring forests, protecting ecosystems, and helping maintain balance on the planet we all share.

  • Protecting the Lives We Carry Forward

Supporting youth mental health helps strengthen the inner lives we carry forward — building systems of care, prevention, and support before crisis takes hold.

Sustainable growth requires tending both — the world around us and the lives within it.

Environmental Giving

Reforestation Support

Leaf & Latch supports global reforestation through One Tree Planted, a nonprofit that funds tree-planting projects focused on restoring forests, ecosystems, and biodiversity around the world.

For every Leaf & Latch journal sold, we donate $1 to help fund the planting of one tree, up to $25 per month. Donations are made quarterly, allowing us to give back consistently while remaining responsible stewards of a growing small business.

This commitment is deeply personal.

Amber founded Leaf & Latch with the belief that we only get one planet, one Earth, and that caring for it is not optional — it’s a responsibility we hold not just for ourselves, but for future generations. Forests play a critical role in supporting biodiversity, protecting soil and water systems, and helping restore balance in a world under increasing environmental strain.

While Leaf & Latch is not 100% eco-friendly or self-sustaining, we believe in doing what we can, where we are, with intention. Supporting reforestation is one way we contribute to that balance — thoughtfully, transparently, and within our means.

Giving back isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up anyway — thoughtfully, consistently, and within our means.

One is about restoring the world around us. The other is about protecting the lives within it.

Mental Health Giving

Youth & Young Adult Mental Health Support

During select, time-bound campaigns, Leaf & Latch donates 5% of sales from specific products to The Jed Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting emotional wellbeing and helping prevent youth suicide through education, systems, and prevention programs.

These campaigns are intentionally designed with clear boundaries:

  • Time-bound — never ongoing or urgency-driven
  • Product-specific — not applied to every purchase
  • Capped and planned — to ensure sustainability and transparency

Donations are made after each campaign concludes, and shared with our community once finalized. Each campaign includes clear dates and details, shared up front.

This commitment is deeply personal.

Growing up, I experienced severe anxiety and depression without access to a support system or guidance for navigating mental health challenges. Like many young people, I carried those struggles quietly — without language, resources, or reassurance that help was available.

I also lost a close friend to suicide during my teenage years and has witnessed many friends and family members face their own mental health challenges over the years. These experiences shaped a lifelong understanding that mental health support cannot wait until crisis — and that prevention, education, and community-based systems matter.

Leaf & Latch’s support of The Jed Foundation reflects a belief that care should be proactive, not reactive, and that meaningful change comes from strengthening the structures that help young people feel supported, seen, and equipped long before they reach a breaking point.

We approach mental health giving with humility and responsibility. Leaf & Latch products are not therapy, and purchases are never positioned as solutions. Instead, our goal is to quietly support organizations doing evidence-based work — while creating tools that encourage reflection, grounding, and gentler rhythms in everyday life.

Our first dedicated mental health giving campaign is planned for May 2026, aligned with Mental Health Awareness Month. Details will be shared intentionally when the campaign begins.

  • What Rooted Impact Is

    • A reflection of our values
    • A long-term commitment designed to grow with our business
    • Transparent, planned giving — not reactive promises

  • What Rooted Impact Isn’t

    • A marketing tactic
    • A promise of outcomes
    • A requirement placed on our customers

How We Review Our Impact

Our giving structure is reviewed annually to ensure it remains responsible, sustainable, and aligned with Leaf & Latch’s growth.

As our business evolves, our ability to give back may expand — but our commitment to transparency and care will not.

A Note to Our Community

Rooted Impact exists because we believe businesses can give back responsibly — not because we believe customers should carry that burden.

Your role here is simple: choose what supports your own growth. We’ll take care of the rest.
