If you clicked around the shop and felt a little lost trying to figure out what's actually different between all these journals, trackers, and toolkits; that's on us, not you. A shop built around reducing overwhelm should not, itself, be overwhelming to shop. So let's fix that right now.
Here's the plain-language version of everything we make, what each thing is actually for, and how to know where to start.
The three journal tiers
Every Leaf & Latch journal falls into one of three tiers. The difference isn't really about page count; it's about how much you're ready to carry right now.
- Mental Unload Journals — for when your mind is loud, tangled, or full, and you just need somewhere safe to put it all down. No pressure to organize it, understand it, or make it pretty.
- Petite Ritual Journals — for everyday grounding. Small, doable, and built to become a ritual you actually keep, instead of one more thing you abandon by February.
- Full Ritual Journals — our deepest tier, built for longer-term reflection, pattern awareness, and real shifts in how you see yourself and move through your life.
Mental Unload Journals
These are the journals we tell people to start with when they're in survival mode and just need a place to set things down before they can think about anything else. They're mostly blank or lightly prompted on purpose; there is nothing to perform here, and nothing you write has to make sense to anyone, including future-you.
Right now that's Foliage Dump, a dot-grid style unload journal for mental clarity and emotional release, and Shadow Garden, a blank brain-dump journal for the thoughts you were never meant to carry alone. Both are $10, both are designed to be opened at 11pm when your brain won't quiet down, and neither one is going to ask you to reflect on it in the morning.
Petite Ritual Journals
Once you're not in acute overwhelm anymore, but you still don't have room for a big, sprawling practice, this is your tier. Petite Ritual Journals are built for consistency without pressure; a mood or vision tracker here, a few grounding prompts there, all sized so it never turns into one more thing on your to-do list.
Currently that's Gratitude Grove, a gently guided gratitude practice for overwhelmed humans, and Business Ritual Reset, built for business owners who are tired of choosing between productivity and well-being. Both sit in the $18–$24 range and both include the mood and vision tools that make up what we call an Unfurling Board (more on that in an upcoming post).
Full Ritual Journals
This is the deep-work tier; 120+ pages, dozens of prompts, and room for the kind of long-term pattern awareness that a smaller journal just can't hold. We're actively working on our next Full Ritual release, so keep an eye on the shop and this blog; we'll let you know the moment it's back and ready.
Trackers, layout builders & creative tools
Beyond the journals themselves, we're also building out a growing library of trackers and layout pieces; things like our Tend & Track toolkit and Moodvine tracker stickers; for anyone who wants to build their own layouts inside a journal, planner, or notebook they already love. These are still in the works too, so consider this your heads-up that they're coming.
So, where do you actually start?
Here's the honest, no-quiz-required version:
- If your brain feels like it's running twelve tabs and none of them will close, start with a Mental Unload Journal.
- If you're steady enough to want a small, repeatable ritual that doesn't ask much of you, start with a Petite Ritual Journal.
- If you're in a season where you're ready to actually dig — patterns, identity, the long view — hang tight for our next Full Ritual Journal, and start with a Petite in the meantime.
There's no wrong door in here, babe. You can always size up or down as your season changes; that's kind of the whole point.
